About the Anthology

 

Hello and welcome to the Warwick Young Adult Writers official blog!

As you might have heard (everyone's talking about it), this summer they will be publishing an anthology of our work titled 'Read Me'.
It will be a collection of YA excerpts and short stories, and YOU have the opportunity to watch it happen here, first! Come and follow our journey, hear about our techniques, read reviews of Young Adult books and listen to us tell you tales around the campfire of the blogosphere!

We are lucky enough to have won funding to publish an inaugural edition of the anthology and to work with Secondary Schools in East London and Coventry to promote YA literature and encourage those not of the 'average' author's age to take up their pens! We believe that 'teen' fiction and young writers deserve credit beyond what is widely awarded to them  - that young adult fiction deserves recognition as an influential and highly complex genre  - and those who write it need more encouragement!


Many of us are working Young Adult novels of our own and you can get a peak at the first few chapters this summer in our anthology! We will also be touring literary festivals across the country and opening dialogues within the industry about the future of literature and the important place YA and young writers has in it.
